The Shores of Quake Lake

from 45.00

A limited edition archival photograph printed on Kodak Professional Endura Supra paper with a lustre finish.

Image description: A bare tree rests on the shores of Quake Lake in Montana. Trees that once lined the banks of the Madison River have sat underwater for more than 50 years after a 7.5-magnitude earthquake on August 17, 1959 triggered a massive landslide burying campers and the riverbed of the Madison below. Quake Lake was formed and is now a popular fishing destination in the Yellowstone area. Local fishing lore touts that a state record brown trout could be hiding in the difficult-to-navigate waters of the lake.
